Welcome! To followers of old: I’m Back! From where? Let’s just leave it as “life intrudes.” There will be times when you think you know what to expect and it surprises you. Though I have my favourite types, I don’t have any fixed genres or bands that I exclusively comment on. Many of my posts will link music to my own personal experiences and the way I see things. I plan on having a new look to this blog very soon (everyone needs a change now and then). You will notice a new series of entries that will begin: “It’s Time We Stop Hating . . . .” These entries will focus on artists or, perhaps, works of music that I believe to be wrongfully maligned. There will also be memorials of our fallen musical brothers and sisters both in the past and recently deceased. The type of entries I’ve done in the past will, of course, continue (got to have some sense of stability here). Oh, and by the way, I’ve done away with the old numbering system. If you want to see other entries I’ve written about your favourite subjects, there is a search engine and tags.
A comment on comments:
The way WordPress has this set up, the comments go from oldest to newest. To me this is counter-intuitive but, alas, I don’t run it. I try to reply to every comment that is not a bot or advert (actually, sometimes I’ll reply to bots if I find them humourous enough. Some are damn funny). I will at least try to say thank you. If you sent a comment, look for it in the entry you commented on. Sometimes it may take a while, but I think everyone deserves a reply if humanly possible. Thanks for reading!
Another note: I have had problems with comments getting through for some time now. I am still trying to figure out the problem but that should not discourage anyone from trying to post a comment. Thank you once again!

There could be many reasons. I heard this once before and I tested it on several different computers, servers and browsers and it seems fine. Maybe trying it at another time helps or perhaps going in and out of your browser.

It is not difficult to create a blog and I’m not very technical myself. When I finish my David Bowie “Blackstar” followup I plan on writing an entry about my experiences in blogwriting so far. I am no expert. There is a site I believe it’s “Blogbuilders” that was very useful to me. I just cobbled my knowledge from several sites and kindly disregarded a lot of advise along the way. I just have a different vision, for better or for worse, but there is a lot of good advise out there. Good luck! Cheers!

In regards to suggestions, I am definitely open to hear them as long as they’re respectful and not ridiculous know-it-all laundry lists. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced that in other aspects of my life. Please understand I do have a different approach to things. As I’ve said, the more you do the better you get. This applies to me as well. I don’t know everything and it’s great to get helpful suggestions and input. Sometimes, though, I get nervous when people say they have suggestions because I’ve had some bad experiences with it. Please don’t take this as I don’t want to hear. I just want to be clear on how I feel about the subject. Thank you.

The advice about the writing part of it mostly concerns a) having something you think is worth saying and is different from what everyone else has said b) trust your instincts c) the more you do the better you get d) care about how you write things as much as your subject matter. I hate typos (and I do make them, wayyy too often for my liking) and unclear writing. How is anyone going to care about what you’re saying if they can’t tell what you’re saying? e) be considerate toward your readers, don’t insult their intelligence. Those I think are the main points. I might just make an entry on the topic since this is not the first time I’ve been asked. As far as platforms are concerned, I’m an idiot, so I googled the topic. Took advice from those who made sense and have the WordPress/Bluhost combo. I’ve been very happy so far. Hope this helps. Thank you for your comment. Cheers!

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. If you are having trouble locating the articles, the links are on your right. You can click the latest titles or you can look at the articles by month. I started out with slow output but I have been slowly putting out more. If you are asking about sources, I usually don’t refer to them. It’s mostly from memory. If you are really curious, tell me what comment you were wondering about and I will give you a source. Most of what I write are my own opinions, observations and experiences so . . . I would be the source. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for the comment. OBTW the info in the Blackstar review was from a Tony Visconti interview that was reprinted several times. I think originated from Rolling Stone or some such place. I can find that out for you sometime if you’re curious. It’s quite easy to find.
Additionally, most of these articles are my vantage point not information to be analyzed and charted at the next business meeting (which I’m sure it’s not) so please don’t refer to it as “information.” I’m not trying to be nit-picky but I get so many bots that use that word that it gives me seizures (not really, but you get the point).
